Why have a microchip
Pets can go missing for a variety of reasons: they can become scared during the firework season or heavy thunderstorms, wander too far from a new house and being, naturally inquisitive, can easily become lost whilst investigating smells or noises.
Having a microchip implanted is quick, simple and very cost effective. It will give you the peace of mind that, if your pet does become lost, you will have more chance of being reunited faster. You may also avoid the possibility of your pet being rehomed or kept in a shelter.
In April 2016, it will be a legal requirement to have your pet microchipped.
Pets travelling abroad must also have a microchip.
Our microchipping service
Here at Anderson vets, we use high quality ‘tracer’ microchips. Tracer is the only non-glass microchip in the UK – it is shatter proof and 10 x stronger than glass.
